Talk about shocked. Walking in and finding Khloe and my daughter in the house with my secretary, who was in my kitchen was something I’d never expected. I wasn’t sure what was going through Jenny’s head and seeing her with a knife had me acting. I sent Ava and her nanny out of harm’s way and waited until I heard the bedroom door shut before I tried to diffuse the situation.

“What are you doing here?” Seemed like a simple question—one I hoped she had a straight answer for.

Jenny cocked her head to the side. “I’m making dinner, silly.”

“Okay, so let me rephrase. Why are you here?”

“I overheard you talking with Ryan about how you were busy and didn’t think you’d have time for dinner. I know how much you hate eating out and takeaway doesn’t always hit the spot anyway, so I took matters into my own hands to make you dinner.”

It was creepy in an I’m-going-to-overstep sort of way.

A timer rang and Jenny danced around the kitchen, grabbing a tray from the oven.

“Well, I appreciate all this, but it wasn’t necessary–”

“I love cooking,” she interrupted.

“It smells amazing, and I’m thankful you thought of me, but I need to ask you to go. I have a million things to do, and I’ll be horrible company.”

Her face fell a little, but she didn’t seem to let it faze her. “Sure, no problem. I’ll see you at work tomorrow, Parker.”

As she walked past me, she ran her fingers up my arm and over my shoulder. Jenny was getting worse, and I’d have to deal with her. Maybe I should find her replacement before I let her go?

As I turned to watch her walk out the door, I noticed Khloe on the steps with a sour look. She must have seen the exchange, and I hated that she had. I walked to the front door, making sure I locked it and set the alarm. I needed my ladies safe.

“She’s asleep,” she said, still looking upset. “I’ll gather my things and be out of your hair.”

“Don’t go.”

“If you had plans, I’d have taken Ava out, or you could have gone out. I didn’t have to cramp your style.”

“The only plans I have are with you.”

I watched as her eyes widened, making me want her more. I took the stairs as fast as I could, and by the time I reached her, I was breathless—and not because I exerted myself. My cock started to stir at the thoughts I had running through my head, the fantasies playing out. Thank god my daughter was asleep.

I pushed a piece of hair behind her ear and smiled down at her. “I’ve been having some very inappropriate fantasies about you for a long time.”

“Really?” she asked with wide eyes.

“Why do you think I was so short with you all the time? I was walking a tight rope.”

“I had crazy ones too,” she admitted.

“Tell me.”

The blush spread so low it disappeared under the top of her shirt.

“This has to be good to have you looking like this,” I told her as I ran a finger over her cheek.
